Autumn is calling: The Fall Book Tag

The Fall Book Tag seems like a great opportunity to celebrate the beginning of Fall in a bookish and autumn-ish manner. How to resist the temptation of thinking about comfy sweaters, bright colours, and howling winds? ♥

The Fall Book Tag was created by Bionic Book Worm, and I got inspired to do this tag by Adventures of a Bibliophile.

Crisp Fall Air: A Book That Felt Fresh and New

Since Autumn is all about beautiful colours, here I want to mention “The Secret Lives of Colour” by Kassia St. Clair. Everything about this book is fresh, starting from the topic itself to its writing style and design. The same author is going to publish one more book, this time on fabrics – “The Golden Thread”. Can’t wait to read it!

Howling Winds: An Ending That Blew You Away

The first idea that came to my mind was “As I Lay Dying” by William Faulkner. I found the book very challenging and I kind of struggled to finish it, but it was surely worth it! It has that type of ending that you have to re-read for a couple of times, to make sure you understand what’s happening.

Comfy Sweaters: A Book That Gave the Warm & Fuzzy

“1Q84” by Haruki Murakami, one of my favourite books of all times. Murakami’s surreal world is not always warm and comfy, but the story really gets you hooked up. It’s for sure a book that I recommend reading Autumn or Winter time.

Bright Colors: A Cover with Red, Orange or Yellow

How to write a post about Fall without mentioning Harry Potter? Luckily, the most recent Harry Potter related book I read, “A History of Magic”, has a very autumn-ish cover with red, orange, and yellow. The perfect “back to school” book for the hidden Hermione in me 🙂

Leaf Fight: A Book with Non-Stop Action

I’ll tell you about a whole trilogy with non-stop action: “The Cemetery of Forgotten Books” by Carlos Ruiz Zafón! If you’re into books that keep you awake all night to read just one more chapter, I’m sure you’ll enjoy these masterpieces.

Pumpkin Spice: Your Most Anticipated Read

Remaining in Zafon’s kingdom, the book I look forward to reading the most is the fourth book of his series – “The Labyrinth of Spirits”. The English version was released this summer, so this autumn might be just the perfect time to read it. Can’t wait to go back to Barcelona, to the Sempere&Sons bookshop!
