Let a whole lotta’ books come to me! Or how I got myself busy for the next months

It all started when I noticed that The Sentence by Louise Erdrich was (finally!) available in Romania as paperback. And then I thought … if I order a book, why not put together a bigger order, to refresh my shelves and have my Spring fully BOOKed? 😉

Super happy with my new books 🙂

The Sentence by Louise Erdrich – this was the spark! I know it’s a ghost story and it was shortlisted for Women’s Prize for Fiction 2022. It involves a bookseller, a lot of wittiness … and it’s supposed to be super funny as well!

The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow – this book reminded me of The Familiars by Stacey Halls (my review), a book I loved reading! It’s about witches, and I’ve never read anything by its author … so double-win!

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid – one of the books I heard so much about from my friends! It is the fiction story of a Hollywood icon, Mrs Hugo, who is revealing the truth about her scandalous life.

The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida by Shehan Karunatilaka – the winner of the 2022 Booker Prize. It tells the story of a war photographer from Sri Lanka who dies and wakes up in a “celestial visa office”. Already sounds intriguing, doesn’t it?!

Women Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés – this was more of an impulse acquisition; it is about the inner power of women, about magic and feminine power. As far as I know, it is a collection of stories combined with psychological aspects of womanhood.

To Paradise by Hanya Yanagihara – one of the books I am super super excited about! I loved reading Yanagihara’s other books, A Little Life (my review) and People in the Trees, so I can only have high expectations from her latest release. It is built on a “what-if scenario”, an alternate version of 1800s America – reminds me of Blonde Roots by Bernandine Evaristo (my review).

Do you also start from buying “just one book” and end up with buying many more?

Let me know what are your most fresh bookish additions, I’d love to hear what you plan to read!
