Hello and welcome to my May 2020 reading status! I hope you are all well in this tumultuous times and that you stay safe, preferably at home as much as possible.

This is a WWW Wednesday post, hosted by Sam@Taking on a World of Words about the past, current and future reads.

1| What are you currently reading?

the heart goes last margaret atwood readers high tea

I’ve just started reading “The Heart Goes Last” by Margaret Atwood. I bought this book without knowing anything about it. It caught my eye during an online purchase from Nautilus, a local English bookshop, and right after that I was recommended to read it ๐Ÿ™‚ So it had to be the next read!

2|ย What did you recently finish reading?

I managed again to finish 2 books in a month โค

the little friend donna tartt readers high tea

First I finished “The Little Friend” by Donna Tartt. I had very high expectations, after reading “The Secret History” and “The Goldfinch” by the same author … unfortunately, I was a little bit disappointed. In a nutshell, it is about a girl who wants to revenge the death of her younger brother.

The second book finished is “Deep” by James Nestor, a book about freediving and our (limited) understanding about the oceans. I read this book very quickly, during one weekend. It was amazing how many things I learnt about the underwater world.

3| What do you think you’ll read next?

the history of bees maja lunde readers high tea

I am oscillating between “The History of Bees” by Maja Lunde and “The Golden Thread” by Kassia St. Clair. “The History of Bees” recently caught my eye when I read about Maja Lunde’s Climate Quartet.

“The Golden Thread” was long awaited after reading the other book written by Kassia St. Clair – “The Secret Lives of Colour” – a book I enjoyed a lot!

I guess it will depend a lot on my reading mood – a dystopian story or a non-fiction book about the history of textiles. Or both! ๐Ÿ™‚

‘Till next time … happy reading and #stayhome!

  2. The Golden Thread sounds interesting! I agree about Donna Tartt, the Little Friend was not as good as her two other books. Love your selections it gives me ideas for what to read next. Hope you enjoy the Romanian summer ๐Ÿ˜Š
